Keith Blessed a Whitby artist specialises in the use of soft pastels, made by unison colour in Northumberland. Whitby Artist Keith is based at the Cellar Gallery, Grape Lane, Whitby. He continues to strive to improve his technique and the understanding of the pastel medium, which he feels is very underrated. The pastels Keith uses for painting are made using pure pigments which make them highly durable, and paintings produced will not fade over time, which can be demonstrated by the pastel works of the French Impressionists particular Edgar Degas. As an artist he primarily paint landscapes and seascapes from the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast and tries to evoke the ever changing moods and atmosphere of this part of the country. His work is all about the quality of light, whether it is the stormy skies or sunlit views.
